(This could also possibly be extended to using other materials to make buckets some mods do add alternate flavors of bucket, and some just add recipes for regular buckets that use different metals. In theory this should be fairly simple to implement. Check to see if an ingot or gem can be made into a tool, see what its stats are, and evaluate if that's better than what's already being used. If these values mean the resulting pickaxe would be better than what the miners are currently using, then make it! And then the miners could apply the same criteria when looking for tools in storage, and be able to decide 'this platinum pickaxe has better stats than the iron pickaxe I was using before, let me grab that'.ДЄnd then obviously this could be extended to all metal tools the village uses- axes, hoes, swords, armor (which obviously would need to be judged on armor and armor toughness instead of harvest level and speed), and even shears. Tools that operate the same way as vanilla can easily be evaluated by just looking at harvest level, harvest speed, and durability, which are stored in basically the same way as vanilla in the majority of cases (I'll get to the exceptions later).
